On Alexander Caulfield Anderson's 1867 map, Tchae-tse-sum River is located approximately eight kilometers downriver from
Fort Hope. In this despatch, Tchae-tse-sum River is described as having almost no
mosquitos, unlike the Fraser River. This area seems to be free of these troublesome pests.1
