I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Circular Letter of the 30th September 1858, upon the subject of Letters upon the Military Service of the Imperial Government passing through Colonial Post Offices free ofManuscript imageof charge.
2. With reference thereto I would beg to inform you that hitherto no Colonial postage has been charged upon any Letters upon Her Majesty's Service, and care will be taken to guard against any regulation being hereafter introduced which would levy postage upon such letters.
