Colonel Moody, Commissioner of Lands etc in
British
Columbia, signed by
G.E. Cook, JP for
Westminster, and requesting
that directions may be given for the payment of
Col Moody's Salary
for the Quarter to
31 December last, I am directed by the Lords
Commissioners
Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to return herewith the
Certificate in question, and to acquaint you for the information
of the
Duke of Newcastle that My Lords will require, as on previous
occasions, a Certificate signed by some Officer or Magistrate
residing in
British Columbia, that
Colonel Moody was in existence
and in the performance of his duties as Chief Commissioner of Lands
and Works for the period of which the Salary is applied for.

The enclosed Certificate is one of the Forms furnished by the Pay
Office to Persons on the Superannuation List resident in the
Country to enable them to receive their Pensions.
