In reply to your letter of the 4th instant, I have the honor to acquaint you for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle that the sum of £250 paid to Mr Pemberton in February 1861, was covered by remittance of £300 received in a letter of which the enclosed is a copy.
I may add that the account with the Colony is at this moment overpaid to the extent of £178.

I think that Mr JulyanManuscript image shd be called upon to provide an account exhibiting the balance due to the Agents Genl, in order that the Govr may be ordered to repay.
