With reference to Mr Elliot's letter of 24th inst. I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to pay to Messrs. Cox & Co on behalf of Col. Moody, the sum of £300, as Salary as Chief Commissioner of Lands and Works in British Columbia for Quarter to 31 March last, at the rate of £1,200 per annum.
