In reply to your letter of the 24th Ultimo, I have the honor to state, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that Messrs Johnson, Matthey & Co offer to supply the Articles required from them for the Melting Department of the Assay Office, British Columbia for the sum of £222.16; Mr Claudet for those required from him for the Assay Department for the sum of £66.14.5.
