In reply to your letter of the 16th Ulto I have the honor to state, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that after meeting the Bill for £5,000 (which by your letter the Crown Agents are authorized to accept) the balance in hand belonging to the Government of British Columbia will be £8419.7.7 from which the sum of £6250 will have to be disbursed during the early partofManuscript image of the current month for the payments on account of the Interest and Sinking Fund of the Loans of that Colony.
