Sir,
I have the honor to enclose for the information of the Duke of Newcastle a copy of a letter from the Colonial Secretary of British Columbia stating that His Excellency the Governor had drawn a Bill on the Crown Agents at 30 days sight for the sum of £2,000 in favor of the Bank of British North America, on account of the £50,000 Loan of 1863, and I have to request that you will favor me with the instructions of His Grace as to the acceptance of the Bill in question. The Balance now standing to the credit of the Colony is £5,860.
