Sir,
I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit herewith a copy of a Report from the Commissioners of Audit dated 3rd Instant, No 234, on the subject of the British Columbia Colonial Account, 1863, together with the accompanying statement of Expenditure in excess of the Estimate for the year, and as to which the authority of HerMajesty'sManuscript image Majesty's Government has not been otherwise notified to the Auditors and I am to request you to move Mr Secretary Cardwell to inform My Lords whether he sees any objection to the admission of the charges to which attention is drawn;
I am to state that Their Lordships have informed the Commissioners of Audit that the Cooks Ferry and Clinton Road Bond Act of 1863 has received the approvalofManuscript image of Her Majesty's Government.
