With reference to your letter of the 15th Instant, I am desired by the Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, that Their Lordships see no objection to the confirmation of the British Columbia Ordinance No 8 (of the 4th of March 1865) to establish a Decimal system of Accounts in that Colony.
With regard to the similar Act passed by the Government of Vancouver Island in December 1862, of which a Copy was enclosed in Mr Elliot's letter of 23 April 1863,I amManuscript image I am directed to state that there appears to this Board to be no objection to its being left to its operation.
