M Elliot
I think that the enclosed announcement in the Colony of the
Queens sanction of the Ord increasing the Salary of the
Governor of
B.C. is sufficient to authorize payment of the
Governor's Salary at the increased rate. I am aware of no
objection to
M Seymour's salary, up to the time of his
departure from the Colony, being paid to his Bankers in
N.W
if he chooses so to instruct his local Agents, and there is
certainly no objection to the
Crown Agents paying him here that
amount of increased salary, at the rate of £500 per ann, which
is due to him.
