Sargeaunt transmits a letter and enclosures from British Columbia’s Colonial Secretary requesting official stationery. Sargeaunt applies for Buckingham’s approval for fulfilling the request from British Columbia. Sargeaunt discusses the cost of the request and British Columbia’s current account with the Crown Agents. Cox’s minute asks if permission should be given. Included documents describe the stationery
requested by British Columbia’s government.
Sargeaunt to Elliot (Assistant Under-Secretary)
I transmit to you herewith a letter and enclosures received from
the Colonial Secretary of British Columbia making requisition for
Stationery for the use of the Government of that Colony.
The Stationery has been supplied through H.M. Stationery Office
at a cost of £403.4.6 exclusive of freight, insurance and incidental
charges, and I have now the honor to apply for His Grace's Sanction
for incurring that Expenditure.

The British Columbia Account has at present a credit of £1350
besides Bills for £5000, maturing shortly, and though the liabilities
are more than these assets, the account as regards this Office is in
a more satisfactory state than it has been for some years past.
