Sir,
In reply to Mr Elliots letter of the 9th Instant, I am
commanded by the Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury to
acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to pay
to Messrs. Coutts & Co on behalf of Mr F. Seymour, Governor of
British Columbia, the sum of £400, as a contribution towards the
expenses of his return to the Colony.
