I have had the honor to receive the
Earl of Carnarvon's despatch
               No. 12, of the
7
February 1867, and No. 51 of
31 August 1867, directing me to pay
the sum of one hundred and
forty
forty one pounds, one shilling, and
three pence (£141.1.3), due to the War Department for Stores supplied
to the Artillery Volunteers in this Colony.

               2. We have been making very large remittances to the Colonial
Agents lately and of Course an order from Your Grace's
department would at once procure the payment of the amount
applied for. But if we could obtain a somewhat extended credit
               it
would
would be a benefit to us (small as the amount is) in the
               present state of the finances.
