This memo, on Barclay’s behalf, asks Merivale to acknowledge the receipt of two notes that are to be included in a despatch to
the Governor of Vancouver Island.

Mr Barclay presents his Compliments to Mr Merivale and begs to
acknowledge the receipt of his two notes of the 19th Inst. each
accompanying a Despatch for the Governor of Vancouver's Island, which
will be forwarded by the first opportunity.
