With reference to the letter which I had the honour to address to
your Grace on the
12 February on the subject of the Settlement of
the
Vancouver's Island Colony Accounts, and the various
communications both personally and by correspondence, which I have
had on that subject with
M Murdoch and
M Walcott, I am
reluctantly obliged to remind Your Grace that these Accounts still
remain unsettled.
Arrangements which the Company are obliged to make
at at this season of
the year render it desirable that the Directors should be informed
with as little delay as possible, as to the determination of Her
Majesty's Government on the subject, and I trust that this will be my
excuse for requesting that your Grace will favour me with an early
answer.
