The Conveyance of land surrounding Christ Church Victoria, Vancouver, from the Hudsons Bay Company to the Church of England, in accordance with an understanding between that body & the Imperial Govt has not yet been effected.
I was assured by the Attorney General of Vancouver the day before I left Victoria (May 8) that no further delay should take place; but as I have not seen the draft, and as there are interests & phraseologyManuscript image on the part of the Church needing my attention I have the honor to request your Grace to allow me to examine the Deed before it is finally submitted for execution.

Assuming that the instrument effecting this transfer will be prepared in the Colony I suppose the Governor should be requested to send home the draft, previous to execution, in order that it may be shown to the Bishop of Columbia.
