I have the honor to transmit a copy of a letter received from the Crown Agents for the Colonies making application for authority for the payment of £1710.7.2 in connection with the supply of certain dredging machinery to the Government of this Colony being in addition to the sum of £6000 previously authorized forthat that service and to request that the authority sought may be conveyed to the Crown Agents.

We have had no direct communication with the Agents on this Subject—every transaction in connection with the Dredging Vessel being managed by Mr Pemberton. I suppose the authority for the payment of the balance of £1710.7.2 should be given to the Agent?
