I have received a letter I presume through your Office from Victoria (Vancouvers Island) Written to me by Wm A.G. Young Esq. Colonial Secretary respecting my Son who is now lying Sick & disabled. I had received intelligence of his misfortune and wrote him to know in what way I could send himManuscript image such money to meet his expenses having made enquiries both at Bristol and this place with the Banks & Post Office but cannot discover any means of safe remittance.
If you can please give me the information I shall [be] most obliged.

Ansr that we know nothing of the commn the writer has recd from Mr Young, but that we believe he can safely remit money to V.C.I. through the Bank of B. Columbia, or theBank of B.N. America.
ABd 2 Sep.
We know nothing of the letter. Mr Cardwell believes that money may be remitted to V.C.I. thro' the Bank of [blank] or the Bank of [blank]; but of course he must [proceed on his own judgment and his own responsibility. Cut off microfilm].
