Hamilton states that the Paymaster General will pay the Crown Agents, on behalf of British Columbia, the amount owed to Messrs. Clark and Skinner, as compensation for the premature termination of their Contract for the supply of
meat to the troops stationed at New Westminster in 1863.Rogers minutes approval for Robinson to acknowledge receipt of the despatch and inform Seymour that the Crown Agents will be reimbursed on behalf of British Columbia.

In reply to Mr Elliot's letter of 6th Instant, I am
commanded by the Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury to
acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to
pay to the account at the Bank of England, of the Crown Agents for
the Colonies, the sum of £568, in repayment of the amount paid by
the Government of British Columbia to Messrs. Clark and Skinner, as
compensation for the premature termination of their Contract for the
supply of meat to the troops stationed at New Westminster in 1863.
