With reference to your Letter of the 25th ultimo, I am directed by The Earl of Malmesbury to transmit to you herewith, to be laid before Lord Stanley, a Copy of a Despatch from Her Majesty's Minister at Washington reporting what passed between him and the United States' Secretary of State relative to the payment of a sum of money advancedbyManuscript image by the Governor of Vancouver's Island to the Governor of Washington territory for the purpose of prosecuting hostilities against the Indian Tribes.
