This has been returned to me by the Colonial Office as having been probably addressed to it under error, and with a view to its being withdrawn therefore.
The Gentleman who wrote it will require to be informed that Mr Labouchere has long ceased to be Colonial Minister!

My dear Blackwood,
The enclosed was doubtless sent to you, as you surmise, unnecessarily. I had no hand in it; but as it will take more trouble to get it cancelled than it is worth, I recommend you to put it into the fire.
Yours truly
